The colorful and historic Georgetown industrial arts district hosts the August installment of the Georgetown Second Saturday Art Attack on Saturday, August 9 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. This monthly art walk represents an ongoing effort by area artists to celebrate the creative diversity of Georgetown and generate public sentiment favoring preservation of this wonderful civic asset. More than 30 Georgetown enterprises participate, featuring a lively array of visual, performing, and applied arts.

Among the many highlights
of the August 9 Art Attack:

A closing reception for "Perilous Holiday at Gum Nut Island" by painter Kamala Dolphin-Kingsley at Georgetown Tile Works; CoCA’s 16th Annual Painting Marathon and Auction in the old Brewery Engine Room; an exhibition by French cartoonist David B. and summer sidewalk sale at Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery; live music performances at the 9 Lb. Hammer, Jules Maes Saloon, and Mix; open salons at Bella Vitale, Georgetown Art Center, Black Market, and Catherine Gill Studios; and the usual boisterous socializing, shopping, dining and drinking at dozens of
locations throughout the district. summer
